R. Kelly’s “Ignition” is a favorite for a lot of artists to remix, just because of how terribly popular the song became. Not to mention the lyrics of a generation, it seems to be a relatively simple track to remix; but like anything else, it’s infinitely harder to make it good.
For the record, MYRNE fucking killed this. Bringing in those sharp strings in the beginning with R. Kelly’s vocals is an absolute dream, slowly bringing in the percussion against soft chimes and then, oh, and then… the synths and bass. It’s orgasmic.
It’s heavy for future bass, but it’s really just right.
