A Guide to Freaky Deaky Halloween; After Parties, Set Times, and More!

We are already halfway through October and I think we are all asking ourselves, “where has the year gone”? But as the days continue to tick past the thoughts of all the festivals we attended over the summer become more of a memory. And while that may seem sad to most of you have to remember we still have a lot to look forward to before the year comes to a close. In just a little under two weeks the gates to Freaky Deaky Halloween in Chicago will officially be open and we’ll be able to create brand new memories to last us a life time.

Happening over Halloween weekend, October 28th to 30th, Freaky Deaky will be brining in some of the best names in music and have been for the past eight years! This year we have artists like Disclosure, DJ Snake, Tiesto, Snails, Figure, Guy Gurber, Dubfire, Schoolboy Q and more hitting the stage across those three days. And just like in typical React Presents fashion they want to be able to continue the party even after the festival ends with a huge string of after parties happening during the weekend!   • Of course thats not all too, React Presents has released all the set times way in advance to make sure that everyone in attendance has ample time to prepare for an epic weekend. On top of that we wanted to give a friendly reminder that here at YourEDM we still have a giveaway going on for Freaky Deaky that will give one winner the chance to attend the festival with a friend for free!     React Presents has really pulled out all the stops in order to make sure your experience at Freaky Deaky is the best that it possibly can be. Not only have they provided us with all the information you need on how to get to the event but they have also given people the option of taking a shuttles and are offering preferred hotel rates if you want to stay close by!

    Shuttles: React has teamed up with BusBank this year to provide shuttles from downtown Chicago. The buses will run continuously throughout the day starting at 1pm with the last shuttle leaving Toyota Park back to the city at 11:30pm. The last pick-up going to the fest is at 8pm at all locations. Downtown buses will depart from Jaks Tap, 901 W. Jackson Chicago in the West Loop (right off the blue line, 10-minute walk from Union Station) and/or The Hyatt Place McCormick starting at 1pm and continue every 30 minutes, or as needed.

    There will also be shuttles provided for anyone attending the festival that is also staying at the hotel (more info below)! These shuttles will also run continuously throughout the day starting at 1pm with the last shuttle leaving Toyota Park at 11:30pm. The last pick-up time going to the fest is 8pm from all locations. We will have a centrally located pickup walkable to all hotels- TGIFridays at 6600 S. Cicero.

    Public Transportation: Toyota Park is served by the CTA Orange Line. The Toyota Park Express bus, which leaves from the Orange Line stop, operates direct service to and from the stadium on event days.

    The Toyota Park Express bus departs the Orange Line Midway station every 20 minutes beginning 2 hours before the event start time. Buses leave Toyota Park 30 minutes after the event ends to return to the Orange Line Midway station. Your CTA Transit Card is good for fares and transfers on CTA and Pace. A regular Pace fare of $1.75 is charged for transportation on the Toyota Park Express bus, or a normal transfer fee is charged when coming from the Orange Line. The Toyota Park bus stop is located at the southwest corner of 71st Street and Harlem Avenue.

    Parking: Parking will be available on-site for $20 per day or $45 for 3-day.  These will be available for purchase upon arrival at the festival, cash only.

    Hotels: React Presents and Freaky Deaky have teamed up with local hotels to bring you preferred rates for the weekend to be able to enjoy yourself at less of a hassle! Both the Courtyard Chicago Midway Airport and Hilton Garden Inn Midway Airport will be available for purchase, both being just about 4 miles from the event!
