It’s no secret that electronic innovator Porter Robinson is a massive fan of anime and Japanese culture. From taking inspiration for his debut Worlds album from a variety of animes and video games, to using Japanese vocal program Vocaloids as part of the vocals for the album, to curating entire stories and images for his fabled live sets, Robinson has shown his love for the Japanese culture time and again. Now, he’s back with ground breaking news that has fans in an uproar of emotion.
Taking to Facebook and his other various socials today to make the announcement, Porter Robinson officially takes his love for all things anime to the next level with news that his debut animated feature “Shelter: The Animation” will be releasing on Tuesday, October 18th.
Teaming with A-1 Pictures (production name behind hit animes like Fairy Tail, Sword Art Online, Kuroshitsuji, Ao no Exorcist and more), Robinson makes his writing and executive production debut with this feature film. While no extra details have been provided other than the film art and release date, we’re sure to fall in love with the imaginings of Robinson that brought us the likes of Language, Sad Machine, Divinity and more.
