As it turns out, not everything that glitters is gold, contrary to what you may have heard. The inaugural Mad Decent Beach Party that was scheduled for President’s Day Weekend next year has officially been axed, according to the festival website.
The CID Presents team and Mad Decent crew are both committed to providing fans with stellar experiences, and after thorough consideration, we have realized we are not able to host the weekend in the exact style we are accustomed. Therefore, unfortunately we have decided to cancel this event. Our sincerest apologies to each person this decision impacts.
Fans who purchased all-inclusive packages will be refunded in full, including related airfare expenses, and will receive direct communication from CID Presents in the coming days. 
The Mad Decent Beach Party was to take place February 16 to 19th 2017 at the Barceló Maya Beach Resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico. The all-inclusive package featured free shuttle service from Cancun International Airport in addition to hotel lodging at the resort and catering.
Tickets were secured with a $500 deposit the day of purchase, and another 3 equal $500 payments on September, October, and November 16th, for a total of $2,000. Attendees so far have only been charged $1,000 and Mad Decent assures fans that their money will be fully refunded.
