Next Year’s Coachella Headliners Allegedly Leaked

It’s still a few months out before the Coachella lineup drops, but it appears that the festival’s headliners may have been leaked.

A reddit post on the Coachella subreddit claims that BeyoncéRadiohead and Kendrick Lamar will be headlining the 2017 edition of the festival, citing evidence on music festival forums from multiple sources.

All three make perfect sense: Beyoncé has cameoed during Jay Z and Solange‘s sets at the festival in the past and hasn’t played many U.S. festivals, Radiohead will be touring in the U.S. in spring and played two intimate L.A. shows this year that were hosted by Coachella promoter Goldenvoice and Kendrick played GV events Panorama and FYF this year and hasn’t played the festival since 2012, a few months before his seminal album Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City even released.

Among previous leaks such as DJ Khaled and CHIC with Nile Rodgers, a good amount of the Coachella 2017 has seemingly already been revealed. The leaks are light on electronic music thus far, and the headliners mark a departure from the criticized-yet-ultimately successful headlining show from Calvin Harris in 2016. The leak also effectively kills the pervading Daft Punk rumors floating around the past few weeks, unless the robots decide to tour and take offers within the next few months. In terms of diversity, these Coachella headliners prove to be the most diverse and powerful set yet: a black woman who dominates pop, a British band that continues to put out lauded albums after a 20-year career and a black man who manages to imbue racial anthems with crossover appeal.

We will ultimately find out who’s headlining and playing Coachella once the lineup comes out early next year, likely January if previous lineup reveal timings suggest anything. Stay tuned with Your EDM as more Coachella news develops.
