OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder Responds To Supposed Chainsmokers Collab Leak

Ever since news broke that The Chainsmokers were in the studio with not just Coldplay’s Chris Martin, and not just OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder, but also Linkin Park, Big Sean & Weezer, fans have been on the lookout for anything that even resembles a leak.

Yesterday, the video below made its way onto YouTube. The clearly fake song has been shared enough by fans of both The Chainsmokers and OneRepublic that frontman Ryan Tedder had to respond to it on Twitter.

We’re still waiting on the official collaboration to surface, but don’t expect it before 2017. The Chainsmokers have room, maybe, for one more single this year. With back to back singles “Closer” and “All We Know,” they don’t want to saturate their discography so quickly, so they might release a little slower now.

All things considered, it’s probably good to take a break. Media outlets have been reporting on them nonstop, us included, for the past two months. If they slowly fade not into darkness, but perhaps hibernation, and come back with a vengeance in 2017 with a slew of high profile singles leading to their next EP, I shudder to think what effect that will have in the charts.
