Cashmere Cat’s forthcoming single “Trust Nobody” with Selena Gomez and Tory Lanez has been a hot topic among dance music fans for awhile now. Originally supposed to drop today, it was leaked briefly yesterday giving fans a glimpse of the what is the second single from Cashmere’s upcoming album Wild Love.
I was one of the lucky few who managed to squeeze a listen in yesterday, but now that it’s officially out we can all enjoy it together. Selena’s smooth vocals get a lush production bed of soft plucks, warm notes and synths to rest atop which adds a much warmer, ‘feel-good’ dimension to the singer’s pop vocals that I haven’t heard before. Tory also chips in with a crooning rap verse with subtle hits of autotune to give the tune both an edgier R&B feel, but also some nice balance as well. As always, Cashmere’s production is spot on and if this single is anything to judge by, I can’t wait to hear the rest of the album!
