OWSLA’s head honcho Skrillex has always been one known to distance himself from the norm in anything he does. Whether it be the music Sonny makes, gets credited for or even puts out on his labels NEST HQ & OWLSA, Skrillex is always trying to tread in the path with no trails.
Today OWSLA released “Click Clack,” a screechy metallic trap banger by none other than bass music’s fastest rising stars, NGHTMRE & LOUDPVCK. “Click Clack” continues to affirm the two musical artists’ individual rise to bass stardom. Both NGHTMRE & LOUDPVCK have continually been pushing the boundaries of music as evidenced by prior releases such as “Guess Who” & “Feel Your Love,” “Click Clack” is no exception.
NGHTMRE first started gaining steam when he began releasing on Diplo’s Mad Decent label yet his latest release, “Click Clack,” is his debut single on Skrillex’s OWSLA. Sonny has been championing the North Carolinan since he first arose to prominence in the scene. Arguably, NGHTMRE’s opus magnum, “Street,” was first played out during Skrillex’s legendary closing set at Ultra Music Festival in 2015. Among Skrillex’s UMF 2015 tracklist, “Street” was the only ID included in the set. This just goes show how in love Skrillex was with NGTHMRE’s work. It’s no question that Skrillex sees some real potential in the bass maestro that is NGHTMRE. Now if only we could foist our ears upon a Skrillex X NGHTMRE collab… one can dream right?
Check out what NGHTMRE & LOUDPVCK said about working with each other.
“We tried to make the craziest song we possibly could for festival season and then NGHTMRE came along and took it to a wholeeee new level! Play it loud or don’t play it at all!” – LOUDPVCK
“I loved working with the LOUDPVCK guys because they never take things too seriously. They’re not afraid to break the rules and make something weird but fun. We had a blast in the studio and I think the track reflects it. Hope you guys dig it!” – NGHTMRE
