Finally, one of Flume’s most anticipated tracks from his Skin LP Preview on Soundcloud is soon to be released. It will come on the Skin Companion vinyl out in November, but for now, you can hear “Heater” in a video protesting the lockout laws in Sydney.
Sydney’s draconian lockout laws have caused dozens of well-known and legacy establishments to close their doors as Australians are forced farther out of the main city to find their late-night vices. The track soundtracks a video showing the Keep Sydney Open group at work last week when they installed plaques around the city at various venues where musicians including Flume, Flight Facilities, Peking Duk, The Presets, The Preatures, and Lorde played for the first time in Sydney.
Sydney Morning Herald writes, “Flume’s plaque was placed outside Goodgod small club where he played one of his first shows supporting Chet Faker, the same venue Lorde played her first Australian showcase.”
