Since learning that the currently sitting White House family would be hosting a music festival earlier this month, we’ve been patiently awaiting news of what kind of music they would actually be hosting. President Obama has already made a name for himself as the first president to release yearly Spotify playlists of his favorite music, so hell, why not a music festival?
The Guardian has learned that the “White House’s inaugural South by South Lawn festival has booked an assortment of big names for its October event, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Sharon Jones, the Lumineers and the cast of Stranger Things.”
The festival will take place on October 3, while Obama is still in office, on the south lawn of the White House.
DiCaprio will premiere his new documentary on climate change called Before the Flood, which features a score by Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor. There will be a live discussion between the actor and the president. The cast of Stranger Things will also run a film workshop.
