Australian trio SAFIA are quietly making a real name for themselves, and deserve all the recognition they are currently getting for their latest release. A&R at Virgin EMI have snapped up this electronic act to provide a label home for debut LP ‘Internal’, and the record is sheer quality from start to finish.
Ranging a great deal in style and theme throughout its twelve track length, it continues on from where EP ‘Embracing Me’ left off, a collection which also attracted plenty of attention. Tracks such as ‘Bye Bye’ and ‘Together, Locked Safely’ are instant classics with their infectious hooks and intelligent production, whilst ‘Zion’ piles on the atmospheric intention as the LP’s opener.
