Over the past month, the III Points music festival’s SoundCloud account has been uploading entries to the festival’s collaborative compilation series with the Miami and Los Angeles-based record label 10K Islands. Dubbed Swerving Serpents Vol.1, the compilation series spans four tracks that highlight local Miami talent slated to perform at the fourth edition of the festival on October 7-9, 2016, in the Wynwood neighborhood of the sunny Florida city. Each track paired artists together at the 10K Islands studio in the Little Haiti neighborhood in Miami, and each installment thus far has been creative and enjoyable.
The fourth and final track to the compilation series is premiering exclusively through Your EDM: “Trinity” by Deaf Poets and VIRGO. Combining Deaf Poets’ guitar and drum work native to their garage rock background and VIRGO’s ethereal production and chilling vocals, “Trinity” feels like a hazy, dream-like exploration of two contrasting yet familiar genres of music. The Swerving Serpents Vol.1 series proved that artists from different backgrounds could make exciting, compatible music, and “Trinity” offers a rousing finish to a wonderful experiment.
