Zeds Dead x NGHTMRE – Frontlines ft. GG Magree

With just a couple weeks until their Northern Lights Tour kicks off, Zeds Dead hits us with a stunning collaboration with virtuoso NGHTMRE. Both Zeds Dead and NGHTMRE are mostly associated with more dub-y and trap styled beats, but have taken a step back from that in this new track, delivering a quintessential future bass concoction. The track features the marvelous vocals of GG Magree as well, rounding out the track perfectly.

The track begins with a tropical inspired pluck synth supported by a bell-toned synth playing out chords in the background. Magree’s vocals come in, immediately taking us to an isolated space far from our surroundings. The pluck synth, the reverb on Magree’s vocals, and the simple chord progression make you feel a million miles away, as the lyrics tell of a troubling tale of being alone and lost. When the drums come in, Magree says that she sees the light, elegantly leading us into the track’s build. The drop comes in with a classic vocal chop-turned-synth and pulsing filtered synths. Throughout the drop, there are scattered percussive plucks that push the track forward, also accompanied by some drum break samples.

Unlike a lot of electronic dance tunes, the overall vibe of this track goes perfectly with the lyrics. The track is tailored for any mood, whether you need to get turnt or just chill. Regardless of your mood, this track will hit you right in the feels.
