Pacha Group just announced their sale’s asking price of €500 million, but the club isn’t celebrating how you might think. Spanish police have just raided both Pacha’s and Ushuaïa’s Ibiza location as part of an ongoing campaign targeting tax fraud.
Titled “Operation Chopin,” the nationwide campaign has so already investigated 87 different venues across Spain’s territories. These latest raids took place early this morning, hitting Pacha at 6:30 AM, while Ushuaïa was stormed around 8 AM. Police even visited the offices of Ushuaïa’s owners, Grupo Empresas Matutes (GEM), who have declined to make a statement regarding the investigation.
Police have conducted similar raids on both Space and Privilege earlier this year, and Amnesia was found to have stashed millions of euros within the club’s walls. Though this may coincide with Ibiza’s increased tourist tax, the island is definitely undergoing some serious changes.
