iPhone 7 & 7 Plus Preorders Exceed Previous iPhone 6 Records By Bounds

Following the greatly publicized and even greater controversy surrounding the announce of Apple’s upcoming headphone jack-less iPhone 7 and 7 plus, the company has announced that it would not be releasing the numbers from its opening weekend of sales. Despite many claiming that the silence is due to a lack of interest among customers, reports from carriers T-Mobile and Sprint have proven otherwise.

Each of the phone services issued a statement on Tuesday morning regarding the pre-order sales of the new device through their respective markets, and the results are truly staggering. T-Mobile said that the sales have already obliterated records in the first four days from those of last year’s iPhone 6 by four times. They even said that Friday marked the single day record for any smartphone sales in the company’s United States history.

“iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are a home run at T-Mobile. Pre-orders for Apple’s latest have already shattered sales records in the first four days – up nearly 4x over the smash-hit iPhone 6. And Friday set a single day sales record for any smartphone ever in T-Mobile US history.”

According to Sprint, the iPhone 7 sales this weekend were more than 375% higher than in 2015.

“Pre-orders of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus at Sprint are up more than 375 percent in the first three days over last year. Since Sprint began accepting pre-orders on Sept. 9, new and existing customers have been placing orders for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus at a rate nearly four times greater than this time last year.”

Even though the new edition has been widely criticized as boring and a step backwards from previous models, the numbers have revealed that Apple’s fiercely loyal base of consumers is anything but finished with the line of products.
