There’s not many producers like Floating Points. Equally a skilled producer, DJ, composer and neuroscientist (that’s right), he released his debut album, Elaenia, last year to glowing reviews. A departure from Floating Points’ previous house tracks, Elaenia explored a fusion of electronica and jazz, and subsequently brought that vision to the stage with the formation of his Floating Points Ensemble.
Floating Points and his band have toured the United States and Europe quite extensively since last fall, but they are just now making their Florida debut this week. On Saturday, September 17, III Points (who will be hosting their fourth annual festival on October 7-9) brings the ensemble to Miami as a special “Road to III Points” concert. The band will perform at the unique North Beach Bandshell venue, with Olga Bell providing opening support. Your EDM has also partnered with III Points to organize a giveaway for the show, with the winner to receive a pair of tickets to see Floating Points make his Florida debut. The contest runs from Tuesday, September 13 to Friday, September 16.
