Tom Morello, Knife Party’s Collaboration ‘Battle Sirens’ Out Now

It’s been a long time coming, but the crazy collaboration between Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello and Pendulum-members-turned-Knife Party Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen, “Battle Sirens,” is finally out.

Easily the least commercial track of theirs in recent memory, the fiery and intense guitar from Morello adds a necessary level of depth and complexity to the track. Aside from the lack of a 174 bpm tempo, this could almost pass as a Pendulum track (almost).

“Tom hit us up when we were in the studio saying he’d always loved the idea of merging his guitar riffs into the electronic world and we bounced some ideas back and forth until we had the final version,” Knife Party’s two members tell Rolling Stone in a joint statement. “Performing this track live as a surprise during our Ultra set was insane.”

“‘Battle Sirens’ is the cross genre hard guitar/hard EDM mashup I’ve been waiting to hear for years,” Morello says. “The devastating grooves, monster drops and insane tension that are a hallmark of both Knife Party and Rage Against the Machine are elevated to a crazy level with this jam.”

Check it out below.

The track will come out officially on Friday as a joint release between Earstorm Records, Big Beat Records, Comandante and Mom + Pop Music.
