One of Heroic Recordings‘ biggest talents has officially found his home on Monstercat. Professionally known as soupandreas, this New Yorker is making tunes fat enough to blow your speakers.
Though he has released a few scattered tracks throughout 2016, “Over You” is soupandreas’ first big release since March, in which he brought forth his stellar debut EP Palette. If you’re a big fan of Flume, you’ll definitely love this guy. Their musical styles coincide very well, and soupandreas is arguably even more experimental in terms of production. It’s no wonder Monstercat scooped him up so quickly.
While “Over You” isn’t necessarily his most experimental work to date, it’s a great starting point for new listeners who may not have heard soupandreas’ other music before. It’s future bass with a much less poppy sound than a lot of Monstercat’s big-name producers (Conro, Pegboard Nerds, even San Holo) have played with. Regardless, soupandreas is already proving to be a great addition to the Monstercat family and I’m hyped to hear whatever comes next.
