Reports Of Missing Teenager Stifle Burning Man’s Exit Traffic

Due to reports of a missing 17-year-old girl, the Exodus, as the exit process of Burning Man is lovingly called, was halted until the missing person was found.

Thankfully, the supposed missing person was found safely in Black Rock City a short while later, but the temporary exit closure caused an immense traffic backup.

When you have 70,000 people exiting onto a two-lane highway, wait times are bound to be absurd, and after the gate closure the wait for some was over nine hours, and at one point. By Monday afternoon, Burning Man crews were advising Burners to wait until Tuesday to leave the Playa. Check out this aerial photo documenting the 18 rows of cars stretching over two miles from the exit.
