Martin Talks Bebe Rexha Collaboration

While most of the focus has been on The Chainsmokers, DJ Snake, or Calvin Harris with their recent chart-topping hits, Martin Garrix has quietly (which isn’t something you can usually say about the man) put together one of EDM’s strongest singles in 2016 with Bebe Rexha, “In The Name of Love.”

Before his performance at the Billboard Hot 100 Fest, he took some time to shed some light on how the track came to be and what it was like to work together. According to Martin, the collaboration was mostly done through Facetime while Bebe was in January and Martin was in Amsterdam. As for the actual working part? He had sent the original demo to Bebe back in January who “cut it and killed it, sent me back the vocals,” Martin played with it some more and a hit single was born.

Martin also talked briefly about his album, slated to come out later this year, which sees Martin “try something different” and perhaps step away from the Martin Garrix big-room EDM house style that most EDM fans know him for. He doesn’t reveal many more details, but we can’t wait to see what he’s got in store for us!

Stream the brief interview below for all that and also a little tidbit about Martin Garrix’ recent travel woes.
