What So Not Unveils Powerful New Single & Music Video

Coming off of his recent collaboration with GTA and rapper Tunji Ige, “Feel It,” Australian powerhouse What So Not has finally released the single that made his 2016 EDC set back in June one of the most memorable of the weekend.

“Divide and Conquer” was constructed with a diverse assortment of overlapping sections and bold synth creations, all culminating in a piece more experimental than any of his solo releases. Combined with its accompanying music video, full of dramatic, constantly evolving art pieces against filtered and warped backdrops, the experience is truly capable of reigniting the hype behind What So Not since Gemini.

The track begins with an aggressive series of swelling sirens above a pulsating bass note that slowly develops into a looped melody to be used later in the drop. A brief percussion build eventually the picture before the song breaks down into an ungodly, growling synth that takes over the entire mix. Interesting percussion elements and variations on the track’s main melody fade in and out of the arrangement, before entering a spacey, atmospheric section with guitar licks and distant echoes. The track is finally transformed into a bassy, half-time heater to bring it to its close.
