Suicide Squad OST Debuts At No. 1 On Billboard Album Charts & Breaks Streaming Record

While the actual Suicide Squad movie isn’t doing so hot at the box office, the official soundtrack most definitely is. While I’m sure you guys all know about “Purple Lamborghini” by Skrillex and Rick Ross, the rest of the album also boasts a wide array of talent including Twenty One Pilots, X Ambassadors, Lil Wayne, Grimes, Eminem, Action Bronson, Skylar Grey, and more.

Since debuting in first place on the Billboard 200 with 128,000 sales, the album has also gone on to break the record for most streams of a soundtrack album raising the total amount of sales to 182,000. The “streaming equivalent albums” (SEA), which is basically the conversion between streams (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.) into album sales, clocked in at around 22,000 – equivalent to over 32 million streams on streaming platforms.

The previous streaming record for a movie soundtrack was held by Fifty Shades of Grey.
