Another New Marshmello ID Surfaces Channeling The ’90s

Less than a week after Marshmello previewed his last ID on Snapchat, he’s back again with another that has us feeling nostalgic for a simpler time… the ’90s. The era of boy bands and girl bands and stadium rock and Pokemon and Surge, the ’90s hold a dear place to many millennials and we celebrate it dearly.

We assume Marshmello is a millennial, so it doesn’t come as a complete surprise that he’s chosen to either sample or remix Mariah Carey’s track “Always Be My Baby.” The sample “da da du da du da dum” from 0:07-0:09 is a definite match, so there’s something going on there. Listen below to compare.

As for the vocals in the very beginning, we’re still trying to make those out. The 9-second duration of the track definitely isn’t helping, barely giving us anything to latch onto before it ends – for what it’s worth, it sounds really great.

It seems that Marshmello has a lot of new music in the pipeline, so we’ll just wait patiently for it all to surface.

Compare to Mariah Carey’s “Always Be My Baby” below.
