Axwell & Shapov – “Belong” [Axtone / Ultra Records]

33% Swedish House Mafia, 50% Axwell Λ Ingrosso and 100% Axwell, the Axtone Records head honcho is back showcasing his latest track for our personal listening pleasure with the newest Axtone Records signee, Shapov. Some of you may know the Russian producer Shapov as one half of his former musical project, Hard Rock Sofa who collaborated with Swedish House Mafia in 2012 for the track “Here We Go.” Just like Swedish House Mafia took Alesso under their wing and molded him into the progressive house superstar that he is today, the same is bound to happen to Shapov whilst under the guidance of the music genius that is Axwell.

“Belong” is a track that die hard Axwell fans have been waiting far too long to drop, and with the addition of Shapov to the mix, things just got a lot better. Everything in this production stays true to the progressive swedish house sound that Axwell and others helped push into the mainstream many years ago. With a melodic chord progression that’s so easy to fall in love with and swooning drop synths, “Belong” makes for one of those tracks that puts you in the perfect place of bliss through the power of melodic progressive house.
