Zedd has become the latest victim of copyright infringement as revealed over Twitter earlier today. His work with Aloe Blacc and Grey on “Candyman” seems to have been blatantly copied by Chinese pop star Zhang Wei Da, former member of The Flowers.

Some fans have defended Zhang Wei Da, saying that the televised performance included him singing several “remixes,” and that the there was no intent of claiming ownership over the song. However, if this is the case, it still stands that Zhang Wei Da did not have permission to use “Candyman”. Read the Twitter conversation below, and have a listen to Zedd’s original track to hear for yourself what the fuss is about.
@Meon______ I think it’s blatantly stolen from “candyman” to be honest. ?

@yanglai1991 the track underneath the vox is a 1:1 copy. The structure, the synths… Even the breaks and fills… Everything is a copy.

@Alis_yan @yanglai1991 there’s absolutely no chance this is a coincidence. This is stolen bar for bar. To the detail.
