Far & Few, TSK – Lighcycles [Free Download]

Austin, Texas is booming with new, up and coming producers of so many genres. One duo in particular has been making a lot of noise. They have already gained the attention of Alison Wonderland herself with their future bass flip of “Already Gone” that boasts almost 200k plays on Soundcloud. This time, Far & Few have teamed up with another very talented producer, TSK, to create a flawless collaboration. The new track, “Lightcycles,” was released last week on Tune Collective and is a trip to the darker side of trap music.

Generally known for their more melodic future bass, this time Far & Few bring us a track with some very intriguing sound design and definitely some influence from TKS’s trappier style. The track begins with an arpeggiated synth with some chord stabs, followed by some trap-y claps combined with some sampled breaks, creating some tension that piqued my interest. The dubstep-influenced sound used as the synth for the drop is reminiscent of some Skrillex sound design, with its squelchy, powerful presence. The synth is layered over heavy 808s and classic rapid trap hi-hats. The combination will surely have listeners head banging. The second drop has a grimey, distorted, almost electro house type bass synth layered over the same thumping 808s. The combination between grime and production quality on this track is thoroughly impressive.

This track will surely be tearing up some dance floors. You can stream the track below, or download it here.
