Back and better than ever, EDX has returned with his latest offering – a chilled-out, sultry rework of Groove Armada’s 2001 hit, “My Friend.” This track comes fast off the heels of his latest EP ‘Touch Me, Feel Me,’ and follows suit with the Swiss producer’s pattern of supplying the summer’s hottest deep house sounds. Alongside the new release, EDX is also in the midst of an insanely packed international touring schedule that not only includes his weekly residency at Privilege Ibiza, but also his ongoing ‘Roadkill’ tour that has him traveling all over the globe.
Premiered on Nora En Pure’s BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix debut last month, EDX’s spin on “My Friend” is a model exemplar of the artist’s renowned four-on-the-floor grooves and addictive chord progressions. For this piece, he infuses the original with funky percussion, glossy synths, and a satisfying bassline, all while building on his classically house-styled melodies.
