It’s been 27 months since “Faded.” was first released, and ever since, ZHU has managed to captivate our attention with curious ease. The “mystery” producer, who has more or less been revealed, but we still don’t care, has held a unique grasp on deep house and instrumentation that goes beyond much of what we hear on a day to day basis.
With his debut album, Zhu hopes to expand that sound even further, allowing fans to truly become lost in his sound. The 14-track album certainly lives up to the hype, providing a deep soundscape for fans to immerse themselves in. Some of it, like “Secret Weapon,” are straight dancefloor cuts. Others like “Hometown Girl” focus more on songwriting and emotion.
