The Republican National Convention took place last week, hosting a wide variety of speakers and presenters as the party officially nominated Donald Trump as their leader heading into November. Among the speeches and other performances, a potential spot was offered for pop star Justin Bieber, whose talent agency reportedly received an offer of $5 million dollars in exchange for an appearance from him. Bieber would’ve taken it, too, if it had not been for his manager Scooter Braun and NBA mainstay Lebron James.
James was said to have “urged him” not to attend the RNC, while Braun attempted to take it a step further. A firm Hillary support himself, Braun had the idea to set up “Black Lives Matter” banners in the auditorium where the convention took place. The event’s organizers, not surprisingly, told them that only “All Lives Matter” paraphernalia would be acceptable, and that any diss against Donald Trump was forbidden. In their own coverage, TMZ revealed the eventual ultimatum that Braun gave Bieber.
“We’re told Scooter told Justin it was up to him if he wanted to do the show, but he said he couldn’t continue to represent the singer if he did, out of principle. Scooter felt the GOP was using Bieber as its tool.”
Bieber ended up turning down the offer, not wanting to weigh one risky performance against the manager who helped him rise to initial stardom.
