Stephen Walking has always been known for his wacky song titles, but this one blows all of them out of the park. “Wake Up, the House Is Underwater!” is the latest and greatest single from the Canadian DJ & producer, following his gorgeous deep house jam “Matches” with Ephixa and Aaron Richards earlier this month.
While “Wake Up, the House Is Underwater!” stems back into Stephen Walking’s pre-Matches style, it does so tremendously. In arguably his most funky anthem to date, Walking takes listeners on a journey through the history of house music, featuring PlainTalk computer vocal samples, jazzy horns and an unbelievably catchy bass line. If this and his last song are any sign of what’s to come, I’m incredibly stoked for the future of Stephen Walking.
