It seems like it’s been awhile since Steve Aoki was last making headlines through either new music or any of his usual cake-slinging antics. That being said, the hotly anticipated documentary about his life is set to release fairly soon and Netflix have just released the first trailer for the film, so expect to see the DIM MAK label head popping off again fairly soon.
The documentary was filmed through the making of Aoki’s last feature albums Neon Future and Neon Future II and explore the life of Steve from having created a musical label out of his college apartment almost two decades ago to the lead-up of his biggest show ever – and everything in between. Best of all, judging by the trailer at least, the documentary also appears to go in-depth about the relationship between Aoki and his father the world-famous athlete, businessman, and entrepreneur Rocky Aoki.
