Four days ago, Deadmau5 shared on Twitter that his new cube design was going to be revealed at Veld this coming weekend. The Cube is still one of the most iconic stage designs in all of dance music, more memorable than Avicii’s odd head-shaped stage or perhaps even Skrillex’s mothership – though not Daft Punk’s Pyramid.
Unfortunately, the Cube was retired a couple years ago in favor of the Cage, a much less visually appealing though more mechanically enticing piece of equipment. Fortunately, however, the Cube is coming out of retirement bigger and better than ever.
Having personally been at the original cube reveal at Coachella in 2010 (and not having any idea what I was seeing), my jealousy for those attending Veld is without limit.
