We all remember the 2000s when the dancehall sound had a pretty substantial run in mainstream music. Today, artists like Rihanna and Major Lazer have taken it to the next level but where can we find the old with the new? Surely some of the older hits would work really well with today’s electronic presence.
Up and coming producer under the pseudonym MIME has done just that with his reconstruction of one of our Sean Paul favorites “Get Busy.” With an even catchier beat than before and darker vocals, MIME gives the track the makeover it may have needed to find its way into everyone’s playlists this summer.
With about six years of DJing under his belt, MIME only recently started producing his own work under the mysterious moniker. The New York artist has taken a lot of earlier hits from artists like Ludacris and Eminem and given them a fresh new vibe that will definitely make you want to get up and dance.
