There’s no doubting that Skrillex and Wiwek‘s “Killa” was one of the most anticipated songs of 2016, having been teased for so long in the months leading up to its release. With such immense hype surrounding the track, it was only a matter of time before producers from all over started hacking away at the original, showing off their rendition of “Killa.” And while some, like Zaza‘s remix, received some much-deserved attention from the don Skrillex himself, a proper, full remix EP was yet to be seen…until now. Featuring festival-ready sounds and a similar aggressive atmosphere, this “Killa” EP is a refreshing take on arguably one of the top tracks of the year.
Skrillex and the OWSLA team recruited some old and new faces for the EP, bringing in veteran Henry Fong for an energetic big-room take. Boombox Cartel teamed up with Aryay for dub/trap hybrid piece that really showcases their talents in sound design. Up-and-coming producers Quest and Slushii provided some heavy vibes for this remix pack, dropping OWSLA-style dub bangers that will surely make their way into every Skrillex set over the next few months.
