Happy news for Calvin Harris as Columbia Records has just revealed that the EDM radio superstar’s latest single with Rihanna, “This Is What You Came for,” has received a platinum certification in the United States.
Though certifications vary country to country, per the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), platinum in the United States is equivalent to 1 million units sold with one unit equal to either one paid download or 150 streams.
Though the RIAA has yet to officially announce the certification, the numbers do line up as the single has sold roughly 750K digital units in the United States and that’s not taking into account the number of times it’s been streamed, which now counts toward certifications.
