T in the Park is Scotland’s largest music festival, featuring headliners like Calvin Harris and Disclosure. 4 days and 6 stages make T in the Park a popular destination for many UK-area residents, but unfortunately news has come in that police are currently investigating the deaths of a man and woman at the festival.
Scottish police have confirmed that both were 17 years old and their deaths are not believed to be suspicious. Unsurprisingly, police have also named drugs as a suspected cause of death. Chief Superintendent Angela McLaren had this to say about the investigation:
“We are continuing to investigate these deaths and are following lines of enquiry, including the possibility that they may be drug related. I would remind all persons attending the festival that there is no safe way of taking drugs.”
There is not much more information surrounding the event, so we can’t say for certain how much evidence there is to support the deaths being drug-related. However, T in the Park took a few steps to specifically encourage attendees to rethink drug use, sending out a clear message to their Twitter followers:

Geoff Ellis, director of T in the Park, said the festival is shocked and saddened by the news:
Our thoughts are with the families and friends at this time. We are offering our full support and assistance.
T in the Park continues through today and tomorrow. Police have made a total of 17 arrests so far, and say the event has been “good-natured.” The arrests have mainly been for minor offenses.
