This morning, two more Ibiza nightclubs, Space and Privilege, were raided by Spain’s National Tax Agency. This is no surprise considering the raids on Amnesia earlier this week, which resulted in more than €2 million being seized. The raids are a part of an ongoing investigation titled Operation Chopin, with the intention of shedding some light on the financial dealing within the Spanish nightlife scene. The investigation plans on looking into 87 establishments across Spain.
The Amnesia employees that were arrested earlier this week – the owner Martin Ferrer, artistic director Marti Ferrer, general/business manager David de Felipe, and accountant Vicente Pérez de Montis – were granted a conditional release, the conditions being they cannot leave Spain and have to appear periodically in front of a judge.
