Contests in music are a dime a dozen, and that’s why it’s more important than ever to sift through and find the one that is right for you. Everyone wants to offer you hardware or software, but very few can actually offer prizes that translate into tangible knowledge. Cue Open Labs and their Stagelight Monthly Music Contest, which plans to pair their grand prize winner with a personal mentoring session in the studio with Linkin Park. They’ll also be throwing in a Lenovo Yoga Home 900 (Intel) and Yamaha reface CS for the grand prize winner to sweeten the pot a bit.
The first place monthly and second place monthly prizes are nothing to scoff at either, so there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be entering.
