Rogue‘s big return to dubstep is finally here. A part of Monstercat‘s 5 Year Anniversary compilation, “Imperfect Views” is the followup to “Perfect Views,” a track found on his career-defining 2013 EP Earth. Oddly enough, Rogue’s last dubstep release – “Exogenesis” – was in 2013 as well.
Rogue’s last few releases have been extremely inventive, and this one is no exception. “Imperfect Views” serves as a meaningful tribute to Rogue’s early sound, but manages to stay undeniably innovative, making for a well-rounded production. If you’re looking for a festival-oriented brostep banger, you’ve come to the wrong place. From its glassware-sampled percussion to its melodic vocal chopping to its beautiful closing melodic dubstep drop, this track is everything we could have wanted in a Rogue comeback.
