Some artists have an extremely specific sound so unique to themselves that you know it immediately when you hear it. In rock, you can say that Led Zeppelin and Queen definitely have very distinct sounds. In EDM, you can probably identify a track by Porter Robinson or Flume just as easily. Edging into that space is Marshmello, whose sound has become ubiquitous with bubbly trap and vocal cuts (though he was not the first to do either).
His newest remix, a reinterpretation of “Alarm” by Anne-Marie, follows his typical pattern of trap hi-hats and vocal chops along with a distinctly Marshmello-esque synthline. If nothing else, Marshmello has shown himself to be a very consistent producer with a host of easily accessible tracks for anyone to enjoy.
This remix was premiered exclusively by Billboard.
