In terms of things that have very little effect on your actual enjoyment of music, how much the DJ gets paid is pretty up there. However, it’s just one of those topics that gets people interested no matter what. The last time that we highlighted DJ’s fees for shows in 2014, deadmau5 was making between $200-250k.
Now, if a recent tweet from deadmau5 is to be believed, he’s making between $400,000 to $1,000,000 USD per show. That’s a huge leap in just two years, and it reflects the increasing demand for EDM at festivals and its growth around the world.
We’re still waiting on a new comprehensive list of DJ’s booking fees to surface, but we can only assume that the last recorded numbers have all gone up in general.
