If you dig dance music, you’ve heard of Tomorrowland. It’s the veritable mecca of electronic dance culture, and on the bucket list of any die-hard festival goer. Since the festival’s expansion to Brazil, and the now discontinued U.S. edition, TomorrowWorld, countries around the world have been waiting for their own iteration of the festival.
Now, Thailand is looking to import Belgium’s pride and joy in an effort to boost global tourism. Here’s what World Planet Entertainment managing director Chatri Tungthiankul has to say about making Tomorrowland Thailand a reality.
“We have to prepare a venue that can host up to 450,000 attendees. We will also have to be ready to facilitate the journey for festival-goers from other countries, specifically at the immigration control, because when people travel to the festival in other countries – Belgium, Brazil and the US – their personalized festival bracelet does all the work, including that of a passport.”
It’s still up in the air when a possible Thailand event will take place, but if they’re already looking at venues, expect it to come no later than 2018. But with the OG Tomorrowland taking place in just a couple weeks, we can’t be bothered worrying about anything else.
If you need something to sate your ears until doors open on July 22nd, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike just curated Tomorrowland’s official playlist, and it’s actually quite dope. Have a listen below.
