Three police officers were injured Saturday following clashes with patrons of an illegal rave in the North East London town of Walthamstow. Police were called to the Hurricane Room around 9:45 p.m. where a crowd of 500 were standing outside the unlicensed event.
Many ravers barricaded themselves inside the building after the majority of the crowd was cleared away. This Is Local London reports, “missiles were then thrown at officers.”
Police were able to finally enter the building around 5 a.m. on Sunday. Two men and one woman officer were reported to have sustained minor injuries, none requiring hospitalization.
One man was arrested for criminal damage after the rave, another for a public order offense. Two more men were arrested for supplying an illicit substance.
