Armin van Buuren Is Going Back To His Roots For New Mini-Album “Old Skool”

Earlier this week, trance legend Armin van Buuren revealed an upcoming mini-album that will allow listeners to delve into his inspirational roots. Serving as a tribute to 90’s dance music, the collection of tracks will attempt to modernize the time-honored foundations of house and trance.

The opening track, which was already released as a single, is a rework of Human Resource’s 1991 classic – “The Dominator.” The track’s backstory is quite intriguing as well, as Armin had to contact the original rightsholders to show them the reimagined masterwork. Of course they signed off on it, which inspired the Dutch virtuoso to make an entire mini-album.

Aptly titled Old Skool, the quasi-EP will contain seven songs to be fully released on August 4th. Check out the full tracklist below, and watch the included video to get an idea of how this whole process came together.

Full tracklist:
Armin van Buuren vs Human Resource – Dominator
Armin van Buuren vs The Ultimate Seduction – The Ultimate Seduction
Armin van Buuren vs Speedy J – Pull Over
Armin van Buuren vs Quadrophonia – Quadrophonia
Armin van Buuren vs MainX – 88 To Piano
