Sven Väth To Broadcast UEFA Game Score During Upcoming Festival Set

During the previous weekend, while playing at Netherlands music festival Awakenings, German DJ Sven Väth was caught by a photographer watching a simultaneous UEFA soccer match on his cell phone. The photos quickly spread around the Internet, leading to a mixed response from the electronic music community.

Now, Väth has reemerged onto his Facebook to offer his own rebuttal. This Saturday, at Germany’s Love Family Park music festival, Väth will broadcast live score updates from the Germany-Italy quarter finals match onto his stage. After the first half is over, he said, “we will watch the rest of the game together.”

Whether that means he will conclude his performance early to sit back and watch the end of the game, or if his entire set will end in time for him to take over the screens with a live recording of the match, we can’t say. Regardless, Väth seems to be extremely comfortable about his dedication to the sport and his home country.
