Callie Reiff, 16-year-old bass producer and recipient of a Skrillex cosign, has just released her latest single alongside Ronaissance, “Tin Machine.” After putting out a 40-minute minimix through Skrillex’s Nest HQ several months ago, the resident New Yorker has proven herself once more and edged even closer to the OWLSA family. With continuing guidance and support from the master himself, Reiff will surely see a bright and explosive future in the scene.
The song begins with rolling hi hats among scattered percussion strikes and slowly encroaching, metallic yelps. After a short build, the yelps take center stage above a pounding dubstep rhythm that continues to change and evolve over the course of the drop. A short respite leads the track into an even higher plane, where pitched bell tings spray across a relentless drum arrangement.
