Today, Vicetone has officially gone back to their roots. 4 years ago, the duo released their very first single, “California,” which was a staple in the growing big room progressive house scene (and is still one of my all-time favorite house jams). Within months of their debut, Monstercat picked up Vicetone’s single “Harmony,” which instantly cemented the duo as a fan favorite.
The aptly-titled “Nevada” sees Vicetone’s grand return to Monstercat, following a year-and-a-half long break from the label. The track also sees a return to Vicetone’s signature “big room progressive” sound that the duo has distanced themselves from over the last year. A surprising guest – actress/vocalist Cozi Zuehlsdorff – is featured on the track as well, making for one of her better musical appearances.
The track is accompanied by an energetic music video, which follows the duo through their adventures in Vancouver, Canada, where they had their Aurora Tour kickoff show. Interestingly enough, Vancouver is also the location of Monstercat HQ, where I first heard “Nevada” back in February.
