Holy unreleased music, Batman!
Chicago’s Spring Awakening music festival this weekend has been defined by the sheer amount of new and previously unheard material played out during sets from some of the most influential dance music players. On Friday, we heard a whopping four new tunes from Dillon Francis, including a Calvin Harris remix and collaborations with NGHTMRE, Flosstradamus and Galantis. Now, we’ve received two more incredible tracks from bass duo Zeds Dead, and they’re monsters.
To close out their performance, Zeds Dead premiered a brand new collaboration with none other than Diplo and vocalist Elliphant. The track features a catchy and sultry vocal segment, typical of recent Diplo releases, before transforming into a slow, head banging, bass-fueled heater. Despite not knowing an official title yet, we imagine it might follow the lyrical pattern of Von’s vocals, “Blame It On The -.”

During their headlining set Saturday night on the Electronic Stage, Zeds Dead also premiered a brand new collaboration with NGHTMRE. While we don’t yet have a title or release date, this debut marked the second unreleased NGHTMRE track to be played out at Addams/Medill Park this weekend. Featuring immense vocals and a powerful future bass backbone, the collab comes as a euphoric and upbeat swayer among the usual output of grimy, heavy bass tracks.
