Everybody’s favorite producer Skrillex (well, many people’s) recently sat down with Billboard for a thoroughly interesting forty minute phone call where they covered a wide variety of topics like the future of dance music, women in the industry, and more. One of the more interesting tidbits, however, was the revelation that Skrillex was actually in the studio with Bruno Mars while the interview was taking place.
While Skrillex wouldn’t reveal any real details, he did say that “what we’re doing is so f–king different, awesome and next level and sounds like nothing else that’s happened before.”
While Skrillex undoubtedly had a huge 2015/2016, winning two GRAMMY’s with Diplo for Jack Ü and Justin Bieber, Bruno’s 2016 was arguably bigger, winning an equal amount of GRAMMY’s with his hit single “Uptown Funk” with Mark Ronson, including the prestigious Record of The Year, in addition to performing at the Super Bowl Halftime Show for the second time.
Needless to say, I can’t wait to see what these two superstars have in the works for us; and rest assured, I’ll be carefully trawling through social media for any potential previews and hints.
