Jerry Folk has been fairly prolific over the last few months with three tracks to his name since May started in a new series that he’s calling Kids Tape. The common thread among the three releases so far is that..well, they don’t really have one. All three tracks kind of exist independent of each other, despite similar artwork, and that’s what makes them so interesting – we’re basically given a firsthand look as Jerry continues to push his own sound further .
“Where I’m Going” sees Jerry Folk use his own vocals which is something I actually really admire from producers. The production is laced with jazzy undertones amidst tight 808 kicks and futuristic samples and 80s inspired synths – the best of both worlds if you ask me.
